- Diverse program spaces including a children’s exhibit, event hall, classrooms, meeting and conference rooms, woodshop, 3-D printers, soundproof music/video studio, and interactive installations
- Mechanical and plumbing engineering: resilient HVAC with hydronic systems, packaged Rooftop Units (RTUs) with Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes, snow melt, and compressed air for maker spaces
- Redundant systems: an extra boiler and pump to maintain full operation if one fails
- Plumbing upgrades: domestic water and waste piping, hot water recirculation, ADA-compliant fixtures, kitchen services, janitor mop service basin, washer/dryer, and roof drains
- Independent north/south system design: each side of the building can operate separately for reliability
- Tight ceiling and roof constraints: coordinated ductwork, storm drainage, and piping in 3D Revit to remain concealed while meeting slope and occupancy requirements
- Project Outcome: high-performance, flexible building integrating modern mechanical, plumbing, and energy-efficient systems while preserving architectural design and client program goals
