NPS Death Valley Scotty’s Castle Campus

  • 32,000 SF Scotty’s Castle campus, a historic site with multiple buildings storing artifacts and open for tours, damaged by a 2015 flash flood that impacted underground infrastructure and interior spaces 
  • 360 Engineering evaluated and designed mechanical systems, including a chilled water and heating water system with fan coil units, to maintain strict temperature and humidity controls for artifact preservation 
  • Central Utility Plant (CUP): developed a campus-wide CUP concept to serve multiple buildings, reduce maintenance costs, support sustainable operations, and guide phased implementation 
  • Master planning and phasing: created a Master Plan outlining phased upgrades based on funding and operational priorities, with ongoing design work for additional buildings like the Long Shed 
  • Commissioning and performance: provided independent commissioning services to verify that all systems met design intent and owner requirements upon installation
