  • Vehicle Testing and Integration Facility (VTIF) at South Table Mountain campus, originally designed for building energy systems and plug-in electric vehicle research; reconfigured in 2019 to support expanded Materials & Chemicals Science & Technology (MCST) laboratory research 
  • Prime Consultant: 360 Engineering led mechanical and plumbing engineering design, collaborating with architects and engineers for both the original 2009 construction and the 2019 reconfiguration 
  • Mechanical systems upgrades: added process chilled water system with modular variable-flow chiller, new chilled water and gas-fired heating coils for precise lab temperature control, and chemical exhaust upgrades to support new lab equipment 
  • Research-specific solutions: integrated a weatherometer and other lab equipment, ensuring proper ventilation, thermal control, and heat dissipation management 
  • Design strategy: reconfigured building systems to accommodate evolving research needs, maintain energy efficiency, and support advanced laboratory operations
